Kimberley Moffat (Kim)
Running has been a part of my life even before I started running. As a young girl growing up in the late 70’s I watched my dad race many events, and become heavily involved in the running world, often coaching other runners himself. Being a part of an active family there was no escape from some form of physical activity!
After going through my own personal health journey, I discovered the art of walking which became part of my recovery. Getting myself outside helped dissolve my anxiety, lift my mood and gave me a chance to go over some sticky challenges in my head. Around this time, I discovered the world of natural health and the profound healing effects it had on my own health and continued recovery. Craving more knowledge, I went on to become a fully qualified Naturopath so I could support others on their health journey. I also gained a certificate in functional nutrition to keep up to date with new health research.
Fast forward to my late 30’s was when I started my own running journey and I have never looked back.  Running provides me with stability, routine, and purpose as well as the opportunity to step out of my comfort zone every now and again! I have run a bunch of half marathons and marathons, as well as partake in Saturday morning park runs! I have also dipped my toes into the world of ultra marathons, and this is where I find my magic. Ultras are a whole different world and I love them! My recent achievement was running my first 100 miles at Faultline Ultra, Wellington.  I love mixing my running up between road and trail – this has helped me become a well-rounded strong runner.Â
I work very holistically with my clients creating a personalized plan that aligns with their goals, abilities, and lifestyle. Educating clients around nutrition and encouraging them to listen to their own bodies, and prioritizing  their rest and recovery is something I am really passionate about. Coaching clients is so much more than helping them run faster, it enables me to walk along side them from start to finish, and through the ups and downs.   We are forever learning one step at a time and at our own pace. Once these elements are put in place we get to discover the hidden gems underneath the physical act of running and this is where personal growth truly comes alive and increased performance takes place. My greatest reward is witnessing clients progress and celebrating their successes – Yes, running is a physical exercise but what happens to the mind can be truly remarkable once we learn to let go of the superficial stuff and keep things simple!
As well as being a Run and Health Coach at CMF Running, I work within our family organic business, often helping harvest some delicious produce!! When I am not working and being a mum to my 3 beautiful children you will find me out running either on the road or somewhere on the trails – I love a good mission!! You may also find me at the gym doing some strength work!
Working within the CMF running coaching team provides me the opportunity to use my knowledge and prior mentoring experience to support others on their running journeys.
I am available now for Run coaching only, Health coaching only or a combination of both. If you would like to have a zoom chat, please book one here and we can talk about your
running and see if we are a fit!
